Money Matters: Financial Confidence for Counsellors

About this event

Money, made a lot less stressful

Money is one of the biggest worries for counsellors in private practice โ€” and one of the hardest to get good, profession-specific advice on. This session brings in financial adviser Anna Gooch โ€” who is also a trained counsellor and specialises in supporting therapists and mental health professionals โ€” to cut through the jargon and answer the money questions that actually keep you up at night.

It's practical, friendly and completely non-salesy โ€” you'll leave with a clearer head and a few concrete next steps, plus time to connect with fellow professionals over tea, coffee & pastries.

What we'll cover

  • Managing money as a self-employed practitioner
  • Pensions and planning for the future (including consolidating NHS pensions)
  • Insurance and protecting your income
  • The emotional side of money โ€” and why it's so often unspoken
  • How to work well with a financial adviser

Who it's for

Counsellors, therapists and wellbeing professionals at any stage โ€” whether you're just starting out in private practice or well established and want to feel more in control of the numbers.

Your speaker โ€” Anna Gooch

Anna is a financial adviser with a background in counselling, who specialises in supporting therapists and mental health professionals with their finances. That rare combination means she understands not just the numbers but the feelings that come with them โ€” making this a warm, judgement-free space to get to grips with money.

The session

This is a single morning session, 10:00amโ€“12:00pm, limited to 60 people โ€” small enough for plenty of questions and conversation, with tea, coffee & pastries and time to connect afterwards.
